Tell me who you listen to and I will tell you how far you will go in life and in the fulfilment of your destiny. It is important for every entrepreneur and even for every Christian to sort out who has a say in our lives. It is for this reason, among others, that I suggest 5 people to discern and listen to in your life.
1- GOD
He answered, “Happy are those who hear the word of God and keep it! »(Luke 11.28)
He knows everything and he knows you better than you know yourself. Through a daily moment spent in his presence, through his word and prayer, you will find the inspiration, the strength, the creativity needed to bounce back no matter what the obstacles.
2- Your family
To avoid tension and confrontation, you need to make sure that they are at the top of your agenda, even if it is full.
3- Your clients
They allow you to refine your offer. All donations must be put at the service of others or of the company in which we operate. A donation can only be effective, relevant and excellent if it has been adapted to the type of person for whom it is intended. Listening to customers’ complaints, questions and ideas allows you to be their solution or their company’s solution, a person you simply cannot do without.
4- Your competitors
Observe their successes, their shortcomings and use them to improve and develop your project. It will help you build up your reputation and ensure your company’s longevity. It will also require you to be constantly creative in order to meet the expectations of an ever-changing world.
5- Your mentors
Projects fail in the absence of deliberation, but they come true when there are many advisers. (Proverbs 15.22)
They have seen and lived before you, they have conquered. By listening to them, you will save time, money, sweat and betrayals.
To develop your listening skills, I recommend 3 actions:
A- Change your schedule
Take time to listen to God, your family, your customers, your fellow competitors. Yes, you have to deal with a lot of things but you cannot live and you cannot progress without others. God has made us relationship beings. Take time to listen through the criticisms left on social networks, emails… what your customers says. Give quality time to your family, they need it.
B- Be… Interested in the other
When you meet your colleagues, your boss, your employees… make it a habit to ask them questions about themselves. How are they doing today? How was the weekend? You look tired, how are you? Without going into detail, they will reveal things that will allow you not only to get to know them, but also to know what they are going through in order to exercise conscious leadership.
C- Read between the lines
Also consider emotional aspects. In the course of discussions, emotions will surface. A good leader must know how to spot time-bombs in his or her team. Observe how everyone deals with their emotions.
